Sure, people who would own a hddvd player would buy a bluray disk in store because it's $3 cheaper : )
Until recently, it was harder to get a game approved in Europe because many countries still have different ratings. So you could get your game approved for 13 years old in one country in 2 weeks, but still wait 6 months to get approval in the other and get a 16 years old limit...
Things are getting better for Europe. And funnily enough, in U.S. they are starting to see laws related to gaming for some states, so eventually, the approval process may take pretty long there as we...
To me, next gen is when there's a huge leap in technology, which usualy means there's also a huge leap overall for games as well.
So for consoles, each generation was basically from 8 bits cpu to 16 bits, then 64 bits, and finally multiple cores or cell technology.
On top of that, this gen is really the first gen that is bringing HD to our screen. (Sure the original xbox was capable of 720p and 1080i, but was obviously too early and not that great at it).

Could also be that many voters are young kids who never played any of the previous versions, so they kind of knew the name by reputation and went for it. Sure enough, this award credibility is taking a beating.
Please, anybody who like this game, on a console, say so!!! I would like to hear why and if you've played another version before!!!!!!!...
You have to laugh when you see: Best system: xbox 360... If it's so good, why do Microsoft had to stretch the warranty from 3 months, to one year, and then three years, and set 1.1 billion aside to fix the "best" system.
On the other side, I guess I may have to buy Gears of War for my pc afterall... So many xbox fans cannot be wrong : )

So people own a Nintendo Dual Screen (NDS) and 47% are not aware there's two screen on it... 43% are not awere it's touch screen, and 51% are not aware there's a stylus function...

They are talking about owners!!! So this is obviously crap again. Please try to find me any owner who doesn't know you can play a video on a PS3 when it's right there in the XMB!!! Can you find one owner stupid enough not to try to go into every functions at least once... A four years old could find the PSStore and download a demo. The XMB cannot be more intuitive than it is right now.
So not sure where they did those survey, but I wish I knew, because people who buy a $60...
The core doesn't even have a hard drive.
Both consoles have only a quarter of the memory requirement for the pc.
7800,1300 graphic card for the pc.
Yet the game will run on both consoles.
Give them all the room in the world, devs will take it. But they can still come out with awesome games on 7 years old consoles, even if hardware of those consoles is ridiculous when you see what they need today on a pc.
Two days ago, it's "fantastic" engine was too big to fit on one DVD. Today, there's not enough memory in the PS3.
You see, the thing with consoles is that you're working with hardware that doesn't change for many years. So you make your game for it. ANY DEVS can make a fantastic game engine that will be too big to fit on one dvd, or would need more memory than a console has!!! But that's not how it's working...
So really, this guy only look like a guy...
Since they started talking about this engine, they kept saying the engine alone would only fit on two dvd or one single bluray. They also said there could be a way to play the game with one dvd with "day" textures" and the other dvd with "night" texture to avoid the problem...
So either the engine is big and there's no room for textures, or the textures themselves are big... Do a search for Carmack Rage and "two dvd"...
In my book, after the demo, Ninja Gaiden went from "buy on first day" to "rented only, and now I won't ever buy it unless I can get it dirt cheap on Ebay" while Heavenly Sword is still a "buy on first day", not just because of all the combat and awesome combos, but because of everything around it, including pressing a big X button... Ok, I guess I'm showing my age... I'm old : )
After playing the demo, and loving the game, you do sometime wonder why you like the game so much. After all, a game is a game. Those graphics can be done easily, the gameplay can be done easily. But this author exactly nailed it!!! You get into that game waaaaay to much. It's more an awesome story that you have to go through than a game, and yes, this should have been done before, on pc and consoles.
I'm buying this game on day one. Until now, I was wondering if it was because...
It's really easy to replace the drive with any good screwdriver...
But how could hackers, cheaters and virus distributer could use this????? You put a drive in your PS3 (usually brand new!) and first thing the PS3 does with it, is format it... How safer can it be???

And you won't see too many laptops with 300 gig drive. Since they are smaller and drawing less power, capacity is not up to the 3.5" drive you'll find in today's desktop pc.
Currently, 160gig are common, and you can likely stay tuned for 200 and 250 gig shortly. My guess is that you'll have to wait for a 300gig. Keep in mind that they are also more expensive than your typical 3.5" drive too...

Sony plan to use the cell for a rack mount server!!!!! ABSOLUTELY nothing related to PC!!!!. Only competition is IBM who's using the same cell processor in rack mount server as well.

It may be the price of a beer, but it also mean you can buy 3 games and a beer while I only get three games... I want the beer too!!!
